Summary
This study compares standardized Shilajit (VCA-964) with non-standardized samples using phytochemical screening, FTIR, SEM-EDX, HRMS, and antioxidant assays. Standardized Shilajit showed no toxic heavy metals, higher phenolic content, stronger antioxidant capacity, and better morphology, making it safer and more potent for nutraceutical use.
Key Findings:
- Heavy metals absent in standardized Shilajit (Pb, Hg, Cd not detected).
- Higher phenolic content and antioxidant potential in standardized extracts.
- Better structural uniformity and enriched bioactive compounds.
- Improved safety and therapeutic potential for nutraceutical applications.
